Microsoft will cease to provide security updates or to support PC’s that are still operating using Windows 7 after January 14, 2020. So what does this mean for you and your business?
According to Microsoft “if you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for your business”.
According to Techradar the biggest issue with continuing to use Windows 7 is that it won’t be patched for any new viruses or security problems once it enters End of Life, and this leaves you extremely vulnerable to any emerging threats.
This means you want to upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as possible. A report from Netmarketshare indicates that Windows 7 is still being used on a massive 39% of all PCs! If you’re one of the large group of users still on Windows 7 we can help you with the process of upgrading to Windows 10.
While Windows 7 end-of-life doesn’t mean that Windows 7 will stop functioning, it does mean that it can very quickly become vulnerable to malware and attacks that can put your business at risk.
