WINDOWS 7 COMMENTS & RESPONSES
Microsoft designed Windows 7 based on customer feedback to incorporate hundreds of improvements, big and small. From switching between programs to recording TV, Windows 7 simplifies the way you use your PC—and the way your PC connects with the world.
We at Westech always make sure that when a new product comes into the market, we try it out first before selling it to our customers. We have had the opportunity to try out Windows 7 before it goes on sale and this is what our technicians have to say about it.
Windows 7 is fantastic. Wake up from hibernation is very quick, the preview tabs on the task bar are very useful, and I cannot fathom how we worked without them before. Overall upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 is seamless, with all drivers correctly installed the first time. The Action centre provides immediate notification of problems on the PC, and the solutions to fix them. One of the most useful additions to the operating system is the snipping tool; great for taking screenshots without having to utilise Paint - Richard “Mac” Hooper.
I have found the following so far:
- Drivers are automatically installed
- Searching for documents is much easier and user friendly
- The desktop back ground is very creative
- Icons displayed on the desktop are easier as well
That is all I can say for now...Still getting the hang of it. - Ivan Hulett
I like the look and smooth feeling of W7. The way when you move your active window to the top, left or right of your screen it maximises it. If you shack the active window, it minimises all windows behind.
When you hover your mouse over the tabs at the task bar it gives you a small preview of that tab- Robert Clegg
Firstly I like the new Display Features that are built in the operating System. I also find that they fixed allot of the Vista Problems in windows 7
I find that it uses less of your PC’S Resources and the Boot up Time has been speeded up.
I also like the Snapping tool Function which is built in the Operating SYSTEM. And finally I like the SYSTEM tools to monitor your systems STABILITY AND NEAT LITTLE GADETS to customize the Specific user Profile - Craig Swanepoel
Amongst all the good features that Windows 7 has, the one that works for me is sticky notes. Working on remote support I need to make notes of any changes I make on clients computers / server. Previously I would use a notepad and loose the info if I restart my computer without saving first, with sticky notes life is way better. Even after a restart all your info will come as it was and best part you need not remember to save anything - Prince Hadebe
The pros of Windows 7:
I found Windows 7 to be a very stable OS to upgrade to from a Vista PC. By upgrade I mean not a format reload all you do is push the upgrade button during the installation of Windows 7 and it does all the work. It hardly requires drivers that keeps the total time needed to get the unit up and running low. One does not even need Graphics drivers for high end graphics cards.
It hardly uses any resources to run on the Pc so one has more resources on hand to run their programs or games at better speeds. The user interface is easier to use and more customisable.
The cons of Windows 7:
If one is not doing a format reload and just upgrading straight form Vista it does take a long time - Massimo Brondani
